"Since pastry chef Steven Watts set up his delectable shop on Route 1 (in Rockport) last November (1997), he has been selling the coconutty confections by the dozen, and people have been known to travel considerable distances to sample what many consider to be Maine's best Macaroon."

Dear Steven Watts,
You and your pastries were the talk of my tea party last Sunday. For years no professional baker was good enough for me to trust with my party fare- that's how much I loved to do my own desserts. But with old age creeping in I began to use caterers. Of many tried, you alone get my undivided, undiluted praise. At my recent party, many comments were heard, all the usual: "delicious, unusual decorations," etc. It was when we tried to describe WHY your pastries were so good that true appreciation for you developed. Your pastries were the FRESHEST. No day-olds. You made them for the occasion. Your ingredients were the best, the purest, no shortcut substitutions. But the REAL ingredient is your caring, the willingness to do the extra, the spirit of perfection and integrity. All told, you are the BEST! Don't change!
